On August 1st we will be entering a new 1-year contract with Average Joe’s Trash Service. The city of Riley has contracted trash services with Joe for the last 10 years and recycling since 2017. We have been lucky enough to not see any rate increases during that time. With many costs rising, the company has little choice but to pass on some of those costs and there will be a rate increase with the new contract. You will begin seeing the new trash rate of $25.30 and for those that recycle or would like to begin, the price will increase to $12 a month. These new charges will be reflected on your September utility bill.
