Riley City Wide Clean-Up
May 6 – 7, 2024
Now is the time to get your property cleaned up and looking nice for Summer!
The City of Riley will be picking up debris sorted and placed by the curb Monday and Tuesday, May 6th and 7th. Items must be sorted or the city will not pick up. Items put out after May 7th will not be picked up.
Lend a hand and clean up town by taking care of your residential property. This is an opportunity to get rid of unwanted items. Items must be sorted in the following manner:
- Bricks, rocks and concrete
- Large furniture
- Brush and tree limbs
- Wood, plywood and lumber
- Grass and leaves (Biodegradable bags only, NO PLASTIC)
- Appliances (with refrigerant removed)
- Metal
NO TIRES, SHINGLES OR HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE
WILL BE PICKED UP BY THE CITY
(Unacceptable items include electronics, microwaves, TELEVISIONS, paint cans, tar buckets, caulk tubes, batteries, liquids, rags, books and paper, friable asbestos and processed lumber)
Senior citizens: If you need help getting heavy items to the curb, please call the city office at 785-485-2802 or the city shop at 785-485-2425.
Be reasonable with what you put out for pick up. It is entirely up to the discretion of city employees to determine what amount they can pick up. The city will not spend 3 or 4 hours at one household picking up items.
